Obituary of Judith Bigelow

Judith M. "Judy" Bigelow, 85, of Zion, IL, formerly of Winthrop Harbor, passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2011, at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, surrounded by her family. She was born May 19, 1925, in Gurnee, IL, and was baptized in 1981 at Wesley Church, Waukegan. Judy was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and above all she was an empathetic person and an excellent listener. Judy is survived by her children, Ronald (Ruth) Bigelow of Lake Villa, IL, and Linda Barker of Zion; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Elaine Bigelow of Kenosha, WI; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, John R. and David E. Bigelow; grandson, John Bigelow Jr.; three brothers, Bob Dodson, Chester Dodson, and Emmett Dodson Jr.; three sisters, Helen Decker, Drucilla Poulos, and Betty Harris; and daughter-in-law, Linda Bigelow. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, with Pastor Alma Cordova of Wesley Church of Waukegan, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Friends may greet the family on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m until the time of service at the funeral home.
