Obituary of Donald Daywalt

Donald Lee Daywalt, of Beach Park, IL, was carried away by The Angels into the Arms of Jesus on Sunday, March 6, 2011. Don was born March 3, 1929 in Dongola, IL. He married Vivian Brooks on April 13, 1952 in Waukegan, IL. He was a member of Beach Community Church of Beach Park. Don worked for Johns-Manville and retired from Ammco Tools. Don and his wife built their current residence in Beach Park in 1953. Their two sons were raised in that house. Don should have been awarded The Best Neighbor in Lake County Award. Anyone who lived nearby during those decades are still a permanent part of the family. He enjoyed working in his yard and gardening. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Vivian; sons, Steve (Mia) Daywalt of Copperas Cove, TX and Rick Daywalt of Beach Park, IL; one grandson, the pride of his life, John Daywalt of Copperas Cove, TX; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by one brother, Ken; and his parents, Alfred and Pearl Daywalt. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 15, 2011, from 9:00 until 10:30 a.m. at Beach Community Church, 37283 N Greenbay Road, Beach Park, IL where a funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m., Pastors Steve and Karen Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Libertyville, IL.
