Minerva "Mamita" Diaz, 76, of Waukegan, IL died on Monday, April 11, 2011 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan.
She was born February 4, 1935 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico and originally came to Waukegan in 1952. She was a member of Latin Pentecostal Church, Waukegan.
Mamita will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Marcelino; children, Myrna (Angelo) Negron of Waukegan, Leslie (Dorothy Becerril) Diaz of Waukegan, Marcelino "Tote" Diaz Jr. of Carrier Mills, IL, Gladys (Alan) Bradford of Carrier Mills, IL, Samuel (Penny) Diaz of Zion, Norberto Diaz of Waukegan, Marilyn (the late David) McClelland of Waukegan, Ileana "Tati" Diaz of Round Lake, and Eddie (Michelle Limon) Diaz of Zion; seventeen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and siblings Miguel Angel Ramos, Amelia Ramos, Laura Ramos, Isaura Ramos, Luis Enrique Ramos, Amarilis Ramos, Esteban Ramos, and Norma Ramos all of Puerto Rico.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Angel and Maxima Ramos; and three siblings.
Visitation will be Friday, April 15, 2011, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 16th, at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Christian Center, 2600 Lewis Ave., Zion, with Pastor Tim Eddy officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion.
