Obituary of Leisa Thomas

Leisa C. Thomas, 52, born in Waukegan, IL, on September 17, 1958, passed away peacefully in the arms of her loving husband, Larry Thomas, April 5, 2011, at their home in Kenosha. She attended North School Elementary and Daniel Webster Junior High, in Waukegan, Evanston Township High School, in Evanston, IL. After moving to California, where she met her husband Larry, they returned to Illinois, where they married in Waukegan, November 17, 1998. She loved cooking and people and decided on a career in cooking in the health care profession. She was employed as a cook by The Cancer Treatment Center, Zion, for 4 years, the after moving to Kenosha, by Aurora Medical Center, Kenosha for 11 years, ending in March, 2010. Leisa had a profound gift of meeting and befriending people instantly with her enjoyable and bubbling personality which was infectious to all she met. She is survived by her loving husband Larry Thomas of Kenosha, WI; sons, Justin and Johnny Curtis of CA; brothers, Jim Moley of Zion, IL, John Moley of Chicago, IL, and David Brobst of Gurnee, IL; sisters, Karen Hoffman of CA, Joan Grom of Waukegan, IL, and Karla Canchola of TX. "She will always be missed and forever loved by all she knew." Leisa's family would like to extend a thank you to Hospice Alliance and a very special thank you to her home caregivers, Sarah and Gina, which she grew to love too. Please do not send flowers, Leisa loved flowers during her lifetime. Visitation will be Saturday, April 30, 2011, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd, Zion, IL.
