Obituary of Norman Grimes

Norman B. Grimes, 81, went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ, joining with his late wife Iris, on Wednesday, May 11, 2011. Norman was a Zion, IL, resident most of his life and was a native of Itawamba County, MS, where here attended Dennis First Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean Conflict. Norman was retired from Johns-Manville in Waukegan. Survivors include two daughters, Sally (Barry) Snyder of Elgin, IL and Connie (James) Lewis of Buford, GA; one brother, Marvin (Nora) Grimes of Humble, TX; nine grandchildren, Daniel (Krissy), Audrey (David), Luke, Natalie, Paul, Matthew, Angela, Aaron and Andrew; and two great-grandchildren, Kaira and Emma. He was preceded in death by his wife Iris; his parents, Sylvestor and Cora Grissom Grimes; and brothers and sisters, Herman Grimes, Daniel Grimes, Edward Grimes, S.V. Grimes, Sarah Martha Shear and Wynton Grimes. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, on May 23, 2011, at 2:30 p.m. at Pineview Memorial Park, 10750 W. Beach Rd., Beach Park, IL. Memorial donations are suggested to the family.
