Obituary of Dorothy LaForge

Dorothy E. LaForge, 88, of Zion, IL, formerly of Beach Park, IL, died on Sunday, June 12, 2011, at Kenosha Estates Living and Care Center (formerly Golden Living Center) in Kenosha, WI. Dorothy was born August 20, 1922, in Waukegan, IL, and married Gene E. LaForge in 1944 in Waukegan, IL. She retired from the American International Hospital( now Midwestern Regional Medical Center) in Zion after working as a Certified Nursing Assistant for 30 years. Dorothy was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and working word search puzzles. Dorothy was blessed with seven wonderful children, Gloria (Larry) Laird of Waukegan, IL, Gene LaForge Jr. of Waukee, Iowa, Joyce (Larry) Souder of Bristol, WI, David (Sandra) LaForge of Antioch, IL, Kenny (Pauline) LaForge of Antioch, IL, Nancy (Dennis) Padgett of Zion, IL, and Edward (Mindy) LaForge of Zion, IL; nineteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren; two great-great granddaughters; sister-in-law, Mardy LaForge of Mineola, TX; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Gene E. LaForge Sr. in 1984; brothers, Raymond, Donald, and Richard Anderson; sisters, Lorraine Wigchers and Arlene Brewington; granddaughters, Dorothy and Teresa Dickson ; nephew, Dale Grogan; and niece, Gayle Grogan. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd. Zion, IL. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 14, 2011, from 5:00-8:00 p.m at the funeral home.
