Obituary of Warren Esperson

Warren E. Esperson, 76, of Zion, IL, died on Sunday, June 12, 2011, at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan of complications from cancer. Warren was born September 1, 1934 in Waukegan and graduated from Waukegan Township High School in 1953. He married his late wife Josephine Pressnall on February 11, 1967. After graduation, he worked for his dad who was a commercial fisherman in Waukegan. On March 21, 1956, at the age of 21, he joined the United States Army where he served in Taiwan, Korea and other places in the Far-East. He was honorably discharged on February 28, 1959. Warren retired from Cherry Electric in Waukegan after many years of employment. Prior to that he worked for Warwick Electronics in Zion and for five years he worked in Alaska installing radar equipment. After retirement, Warren and his wife, Joey, loved to go on trips with the Zion Park District and the Bank of Waukegan. He also loved going to casinos several times a month and fishing with his friend, Joe. Survivors include his brother, Harvey Esperson of Hoffmann Estates, IL; step-nieces, Linea (John) Springton and their children, Dave and Katie of McHenry, IL, and Chris (Jim) McDowell and their children, Richard, Lindsey and Andy of Sandwich, IL; brother-in-law, Joseph (Patsy) Pressnall ; sister-in-law, Joyce Dulaney; nieces, Kathy Dulaney and Roxanne (Dulaney) Cantu; nephews, David and Derek Pressnall, both of Zion, IL; as well as great-nephews, Rob Roberts, Charles Dulaney, Terry Nixon II, Steve Sutton II, and Christopher and Christian Pressnall. He was preceded in death by his wife Josephine on May 9, 2010; parents, Carl and Esther Esperson; sisters -in-law, Mary Ann Esperson and Birdell Pressnall; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leonard and Hazel Pressnall; niece-in-law, Debra Kay (Dulaney) Sutton; great-nephew, Dillon Dulaney; and brother-in-law, Charles Ray Dulaney. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday June 18, 2011, at 12:00p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion. Friends may greet the family on Saturday from 11:00 a.m until the time of service at the funeral home.
