Obituary of Lillian Sybrandy

Lillian S. Sybrandy, 92, of Waukegan, IL died on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at home surrounded by her family. Lillian was born July 23, 1919 in Geneva, OH and was raised in Rock, MI. After graduating from high school in Rock, MI she moved to Waukegan to work in the Waukegan and Lake Forest area and retired from Abbott Labs in 1978. Lillian was an active member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Waukegan. She was also a member of the Waukegan Women's Club. Survivors include her two sons Robert (Miriam) Sybrandy of Lansing, MI and Michael (Rhonda) Sybrandy of Winthrop Harbor, IL; four grandchildren Christopher (Jennifer) Sybrandy, Brian (Dwana) Sybrandy, Sarah (Mark) Genovese, and Thomas (Irina Kleyman) Sybrandy; and one great-grandson Camden Sybrandy. She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer Sybrandy; one granddaughter Bethany Sybrandy; one brother Eero Saarikko; and her parents Otto and Olga Saarikko. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3350 N. Delaney Road, Waukegan, IL followed by interment at Northshore Garden of Memories, North Chicago, IL. Visitations will be Friday, August 26. 2011, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL and again on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Memorial donations to St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church have been suggested.
