Obituary of Robert Phillips

Robert J. "Bob" Phillips, 80, of Beach Park, IL died on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, IL. Robert was born March 26, 1931 in Bernard, Iowa. He retired from the United States Navy at Great Lakes Naval Base after twenty-five years of service and settled in the Zion-Beach Park area. He was a member of Our Lady of Humility Church, Beach Park. Survivors include his children Michael (Diane) Phillips of Lake Zurich, IL, Shelly Johnson of Alexandria, VA, and Shawn (Lu Yu) Phillips of Zion, IL; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; siblings Mary Clark of IA, Dorothy (Elmer) Hasenmiller of IA, Paul (Janie) Phillips of NJ, Pauline (Duane) Prew of MN, Pat (Glen) Hotchkiss of IA, and Jim (Jan) Phillips of IA; and one brother-in-law Jim Ales of MN. He was preceded in death by one daughter Pamela Phillips; two sisters Lois Ales and Janet Wahl; one brother Jackie Phillips; and his parents Joseph and Janet Phillips. A memorial mass will be held on Friday, September 9, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W. Wadsworth Road, Beach Park, IL.
