Obituary of June Payne

June Vivian Lee Payne, 67, of Beach Park, Illinois and formerly a lifelong resident of Zion, Illinois, passed away suddenly on September 1, 2011. June was born on June 6, 1944 to Eunice Eubanks (Alexander) and James Lee at St. Therese Hospital in Waukegan, Illinois. She grew up in North Chicago until her family moved to Zion, Illinois in 1960. June graduated from Zion-Benton Township High School in June 1962 and married Robert L. Payne in August 1962. June and Robert had four children, Brian, Jaqui, Vivian and Robin. June held a variety of jobs from an aesthetician at Effie's New Image to realtor at Century 21 Maki. June was a faithful member of Brothers after the Order of Jesus, a Russian Orthodox mission in Zion for over forty years. She will be truly missed by all who have had the opportunity to meet her. June leaves the following to cherish her memories: Jaqui Payne (Charles Davis) of Skokie, Il, Vivian Roberts (William) Zion, Il, Robin Payne (Nickie Odell), Fort Worth, Tx. Three grandchildren: Pierce, Devin and Jordan Roberts. One aunt Addrienne Ervin of Kenosha, Wisconsin, nieces and nephews along with many close cousins (Patty Pickles, Anita Young, Bruce Fisher, Michael Milton, Clarence and Morris Balenger) and a host of relatives and friends. June is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Ella Mae Alexander and Grover C. Alexander, her parents Eunice Eubanks, James Lee, her son Brian Payne, her husband Robert L. Payne. Memorial services will be held on September 10, 2011 at 2:00pm - 4:00pm with the funeral service starting at 4:00pm at Congdon & Company Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, Il 60099.
