Martin Bieszczat

Obituary of Martin Bieszczat

Bieszczat, Martin J. "Marty" 62, of Winthrop Harbor, IL, formerly of Franklin Park, IL, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at his home. Marty was born February 3, 1950, in Chicago, IL, and graduated from Weber High School in 1968. He was employed by the United States Postal Service for over 30 years, eventually retiring as Postmaster of Winthrop Harbor. Marty is survived by a son, John (Angela) Bieszczat of Winthrop Harbor; grandchildren, Johnathon Martin Bieszczat, Ethan Chance Bieszczat, and Peyton Skye Bieszczat; sisters, Barbara Bieszczat of IL, Ceal Hanchar of IL, and Alice (Les) Adams of FL; niece, Michelle Adams; nephew, Shawn Adams; niece, Lynn Cruz; and other family. He was preceded in death by his ex wife, Karen in 2007; and his parents; Walter J. and Rose Bieszczat. Martin was an A+ father (the best) who was always involved in sports and fishing with his son. He raised his son alone and played the role of both the mother and father. He never let his son go without and they were best friends. Marty was an A++ grandfather who gave his heart and soul to his grandchildren and they were his everything. Recently spending almost every day with them teaching them and playing with them. The four of them could not love each other more. Recently retired and able to spend that quality time with his little "Princess", "E-ster" and "Pugnut". Marty lived "care free" and enjoyed life to the fullest. He was a great friend to few and an acquaintance to many. He was the "baby" brother to three sisters who loved and cared about him. He cared about everyone he got to know and would do anything to help anyone. If he didn't know how to do something, he would figure it out. Marty was loved very much and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Visitation will be Sunday, June 24, 2012, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL
