Carolee Lester

Carolee Lester, 68, of Zion, IL died peacefully at home on Monday, October 24, 2011. She was born July 6, 1943 in Indianapolis, IN and has lived in Zion since 1985. She was the organizer of Junior Bowling at Great Lakes Naval Base and she enjoyed working with the humane society as a volunteer. Carolee was known as the neighborhood "Grandma" as she always enjoyed helping others. Survivors include her husband of 42 years Richard; children Steven (Heather) Lester of Beach Park, IL and Karen See of Gobles, MI; three grandchildren Emily (Nathan) Burns, Jackson Lester, and Richard Lester; one great-grandson Luke Burns; and one brother Steven (Lina) Harris of Katy, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Virginia Harris. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2011, from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, followed by a funeral service at 6:00 p.m., Fr. Richard Crist officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Junior Bowling at Sunset Lanes in Waukegan has been suggested.
