Obituary of Cory Batz

Cory James Batz, 16, of Winthrop Harbor, IL, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI. Cory was born June 13, 1996, in Waukegan, IL, and was a sophomore at Christian Life School in Kenosha, WI, where his study of the Bible enhanced his walk with his Lord Jesus Christ. He belonged to the Drama Club at the school and was a Certified Life Guard. He was a member of Christ Community Church in Zion and greatly enjoyed his visits to Camp Zion in northern Wisconsin. According to his parents, Cory was the "best kid we ever knew and could not possibly been more proud of him." He was deeply loved by his family and friends. Survivors include his father and mother, Dale and Michele Batz of Winthrop Harbor, IL; grandfather, LeRoy (Marty) Cliff; grandmothers, Barbara Batz of Waukegan, IL and Jennie Batz of Mesa, AZ; uncles, Mike Cliff of Zion, IL and Bill (Cindy) Batz of Gurnee, IL; aunt, Lyn (Kim) Batz of Waukegan, IL; cousins, Lisa and Amy Batz of Gurnee, IL; and Joey. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Kehala "Kay" Cliff and grandfather, James Batz. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at First Assembly Church of Kenosha, 10700 75th St., Kenosha, WI. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation will be Friday, August 3, 2012 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the church. Memorial donations are suggested to the Camp Zion Ministry of Christ Community Church, the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin or the Christian Life School of Kenosha.
