Obituary of Charlene Stanonik

Charlene “Sue” Stanonik, 75, of Beach Park, IL died on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Hospice Alliance in Kenosha, WI. Sue was born July 23, 1941 in Parkersburg, WV and moved to Beach Park in the summer of 1958. On October 24, 1959 she married Marty Stanonik of Beach Park at the Yorkhouse United Methodist Church. Following a career in banking, she and Marty purchased Great Skate in Kenosha and operated the roller rink for the next 25 years at that location. Sue was also a Chicago Cubs fan. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Marty; children Marty Stanonik II of Waukegan, IL, Kelly (Al) Stanonik-Ciepluch of Kenosha, WI, Kris Stanonik of Beach Park, IL, and Heather (Justin Spino) Stanonik of Kenosha, WI; eight grandchildren Tiffani (Michael) Kurtz, Zac Stanonik, Sydney Stanonik, Elizabeth (Joshua) Kramsky, Kimberly Ciepluch, David Ciepluch, Zander Spino, and Gavin Spino; five great-grandchildren Brianna, Dominic, Ariana, Nora, and Emma; brother Paul Everett (Judith) Hogsett of Davisville, WV; sister Roberta Bibbee of Weirton, WV; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister Virginia Faye (and the late Alvin) Deem; one brother-in-law Gene Bibbee; and her parents Paul and Helen Hogsett. Visitation will be Friday, December 2, 2016, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Hospice Alliance of Pleasant Prairie, WI (hospicealliance.org) would be appreciated.
