Obituary of Eleanor Russell

Eleanor “Mae” Russell, 85, of Zion, IL died Monday, April 10, 2017 at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL. Mae was born September 15, 1931 in Waukegan and graduated from Zion Benton Township High School in 1949. She moved to Waukesha, WI where she worked for Payco International for 41 years, retiring in 1994. Mae was a devote Christian and a faithful member of Elmbrook Church in Waukesha, WI and Christ Community Church in Zion, IL. She was very active in the Elmbrook Church where she worked for the pastor of senior ministries, was very involved in bible studies, and helped create and run the Friday morning senior studies. In her free time, she enjoyed bowling, golfing, traveling, cross country skiing and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. Survivors include her siblings, Patsy J. (Chester) Kloet and Fred (Jean) Russell, both of Zion, IL; sister-in-law, Norma Russell; nieces and nephews, Carol (Steve) Capp, Beth (John) DePasquale, Scott (Mary) Russell, Barb (Tom) Boivin, Tom (Mary) King, Debbie King, Barbara Russell and Stacey (Saul) Arias; and numerous great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Rose Russell; siblings, Vivian (James) King and Robert T. Russell; and nephews, Fred King, Jimmy King and Bob Russell. A funeral service will take place Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Community Church, 2500 Dowie Memorial Dr, Zion, IL. Friends may greet the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion, IL.
