Myrtle B. Polzin (née Allstrom), 81, of Zion, IL, died April 12, 2017. She was born May 10, 1935, in Omaha, NB, to the late Theodore and Bertha Allstrom and was the beloved wife of Fred A. Polzin, who survives.
She is also survived by her daughters Elizabeth (Tracy) Hawks of Bowling Green, KY, Patience (Zenio Krutyholowa) Pitman and Nancy Polzin of Zion, IL; grandchildren, Heather Ledbetter, Jennifer, JD, and Nathaniel Pitman, Tabitha (Korey) Kelley, Austin, Alexandra, and Aislin Hawks; great-grandson, Oliver Lemonds; sister Inez (John) Cooper of Antioch, IL; and brother Roland (Barbara) Allstrom of Glasgow, KY.
Myrtle was a great wife, mother and grandmother - strong willed but loving and a true sports fan. She was grateful that she got to see the Cubs win the World Series - and would have liked it if the Bears would have won the super bowl again - but felt she was just too tired to wait that long.
Her Irishness will be missed by all her family - Rest In Peace - we love you.
She was also preceded in death by her infant daughter Mary Inez Louise Polzin and brother TJ Allstrom.
