Obituary of Jeffrey Walters

Jeffrey S. "Jeff" Walters, 55, of Zion, IL, died unexpectedly on Saturday, September 22, 2012,at home. Jeff was born June 15, 1957, in Waukegan, IL, and attended Lakeview Church in Zion. He was a life long truck driver. As a child, Jeff enjoyed his time with the Boy Scouts. He also enjoyed boating, fishing, and especially relished spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his daughter, Judy (Jon) Van Laanen of Janesville,WI; grandchildren, Michael, Tyler, Makayla, and Jillianne; mother, Shirley Walters of Beach Park, IL; sister, Linda (Hal) Birky of Wadsworth, IL; nieces, Jennifer, Lisa ,and Andrea; and a nephew, Chris, who was like a son to Jeff. He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Walters; sister, Sharon Tjader; and brother, Russell Walters. Visitation will be Thursday, September 27, 2012, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Lakeview Church, 1821 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 28,2012, at 10:30a.m. at Lakeview Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion
