Obituary of Robert D. Thrasher

Robert D. “Bobby” Thrasher Sr., 75, of Winthrop Harbor, IL, passed away on Friday October 6, 2017 at Froedtert South Campus in Kenosha, WI.

He was born on October 10, 1941, in Cambell, MO, the son of the late Clarence and Alpha Roark Thrasher. Bobby began his employment with American Motors Corp, and later began his own business “Bob’s Union 76" in Zion. Following that he worked for “Franks Auto Repair”, and ACME Brick Supply and was a member of the Teamsters Local 301.

Bobby was an accomplished singer, song writer,  recording many record albums with his bands”Bobby Thrasher and the Foxfire”, “The Gallery” and the “Bosa Novas” and “The Rockin Corvettes”, playing in many local establishments and was the house band for “Clark’s Lounge”. He loved working on his cars and was a big Harley Davidson enthusiast.

Suviving Bobby are his five children; Kimberlee Thrasher/ Woods, Robert D “ Bobby” Jr., Jeffrey (Anne), Brian (Julie) and Kristine Thrasher. The mother of his children; Joanne Kuchera/Thrasher, Thirteen grandchildren and thirteen    great grandchildren.  Three sisters; Mary “Pauline” (Matt) Goroski, Virginia (Larry) Malone and Lola (Carl) Darracott. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters; Betty (Charles) Williams, Wanda Andersen and Dora Jean; one nephew Barry Anderson and a granddaughter Michelle Theresa Thrasher and three special brothers in-law; Ronald Kuchera, Wayne Andersen and Junior “Lee” Jackson.

A visitation will be held at the Congdon Funeral Home 3012 Sheridan Rd. Zion, IL on Wednesday October 11th, from 4-8 p.m.. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday October 12th, at St. Therese of Lisiex Catholic Church 2020 91st St. Kenosha at 10 a.m.. Family and friends are asked to meet at the church for the mass.  Interment to follow at All Saints Mausoleum.
