Obituary of David M. Wright

David M. Wright, 86, of Waukegan IL died January 17, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family after a long, hard fought battle with cancer.

David was born November 29, 1931, in Lawrenceville, IL to Henry and Pauline Wright.  On June 26, 1952, he married Barbara Glick in San Diego, CA.  Both David and his wife were longtime members of Immanuel Church in Gurnee, IL.  
After retiring from the Waukegan School District after 22 years, he was employed part time with Ace Hardware for another 20+ years.  David served his country in the United States Marines during the Korean War.  He enjoyed woodworking.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 65 years, Barbara; children, David D.Wright, Doug (Erin) Wright, Danny Wright, Rhea (Mark) Fortin and Brenda Wright; grandchildren, Tammy, Dawn, Becky, Danielle, Maddie, Zoe and Dominic; 7 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents. 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL 60099.  Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m.
