She married Harold H Haas in 1943, while he served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. Evelyn was the last surviving charter member of the First Baptist Church of Winthrop Harbor, IL, where she taught Sunday School for 40 years, which she dearly loved.  She was also active in Women’s Missions Ministries. She was a steadfast prayer warrior and was beloved by her church family. Her commitment to encouraging others in the Lord was her focus in life and the number of lives who have been touched by her kindness is too great to measure.  One of her favorite scriptures is Proverbs 3, 5-6, which is only one of the countless passages that are underlined in her well-used Bible. She will be profoundly missed.
