Ronald “Ron” Baruffi, 84, of Pleasant Prairie, WI passed away July 15, 2018 after a lengthy illness with his loving wife of 59 years by his side.
Ron was born in Waukegan, IL on September 1, 1933. He graduated from Mother of God Grade School in Waukegan and St. Bede High School in Lasalle Peru, IL. He enlisted in the Navy in 1953 and served 4 years. In 1959, he married the love of his life, Barbara Skalla, on May 9, 1959, at Immaculate Conception Church in Waukegan. Ron retired from Public Works in Great Lakes, IL in 1994 after 20 years of service. He is a member of Laborers Union Local 152 and St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church in Kenosha, WI. He was an avid Chicago sports fan.
Ron is survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Mary Goebel, Joseph Baruffi, James Baruffi, Beth Baruffi and John Baruffi; grandchildren, Eric, Amy, Ronald, Joey, Johnny, Nick, Jimmy, Danielle, Maggie and Tony; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Maralyn Brown and Margaret Stoltz; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Helen Baruffi; youngest son, Jerome (Jerry) Baruffi and brother, Roy Burris.
A funeral mass will be held Thursday, July 19, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church, 2020 - 91st Street, Kenosha, WI. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Ron will be laid to rest at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville, IL.
