Ana “Nana” Ison, 71, of Waukegan, IL passed away suddenly on July 27, 2018 at Brandon Regional Hospital in Brandon, FL.
Ana was born December 26, 1946 in Puerto Rico to Aracelis and Joseph Maldonado Sr. She was a devout Christian and was faithful in her Christian values. She retired from her position in civil service after more than 20 years. Ana was a very active woman who loved spending time with her family. Her whole life revolved around her loved ones; she devoted her life to raising her daughters and later was a huge help in shaping the lives of her grandsons. She was especially excited about the upcoming birth of her first granddaughter. Ana was a sweet soul that everyone loved. She was tiny in stature but had a huge heart. She was an excellent Spanish cook; her specialty was her ‘Saturday pancakes’. Ana loved the birds and always made sure that they were fed.
Ana is survived by her children, Janet Zugehoer and Nicole Ison; grandchildren, Zak, Kito and Anthony; soon to be granddaughter, Lyric “Ana” Rayne; sister, Hilda; brothers, Joseph “Junior” and Felix; sister in law and best friend, Ana; beloved cat, Bella; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bernard; brother, “Mikey”; nephew, Timmy and brother in law, Carlos.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd, Zion, IL 60099 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 6, 2018 at the funeral home beginning at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park in Zion, IL.
