Sally Rickert

Sally E. Rickert went to be with her Lord on November 5, 2018.  Sally was born in Canton, Ohio in July 1936 to Norman and Ethel Ericson.

In the spring of 1958 Sally married Fredrick A. Rickert Jr. In Lake County, Illinois.  Together they had ten children, Reta (Roger) Muellemann, Richard (Valerie) Rickert, Christopher (Marla) Rickert, Anne (Lee) Fuson, Fredrick III (Kim) Rickert, Sara (Jospeh) Zelek, Paul (Jennifer) Rickert, Jonathan (Lisa) Rickert, Philip (Melissa) Rickert, and Michael (Jennifer) Rickert.  She was blessed with seventeen grandchildren, Melissa, Patrick, Meghan, Ryan, Kelly, Rachel, Kyle, Evan, Adam, Cole, Olivia, Calvin, Karley, Steven, Jorryn, Madeline, Jacob; and one great-grandchild, Brennan.

Sally had many interests and passions.  She was creative and for many years helped local brides by creating beautiful wedding flowers and lovely custom bridal veils.  She also enjoyed the arts, creating beautiful stained glass, painting and drawing.  She loved classical music and reading books on a variety of subjects.  She was a life long learner.

She was involved in the formation and services of Lake County Right to Life Committee.  She enjoyed singing in the church choir at her home church, Christ Community in Zion.

She is survived by her second husband George E. Caviezel of Kenosha, Wisconsin whom she married in October of 2013, and a brother John (Linda) Ericson of Las Vegas, Nevada.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Fredrick A. Rickert Jr. In 2008, her father Norman O. Ericson and her mother Ethel Joan (nee George) Ericson.

A visitation will take place on Friday, November 9, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Christ Community Church, 2500 Dowie Memorial Drive, Zion.  A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church.  Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion.  Memorial contributions in Sally’s memory may be made to Camp Zion, a ministry of Christ Community Church.
