Obituary of Marian McElroy

Marian McElroy, 94, of Zion, IL, entered her forever home on November 9, 2018, with her family by her side.

 She was born June 25, 1924 to the late Oscar and Sara McDowell. Marian married Alfred E. McElroy on February 16, 1946 at Grace Missionary Church, Rev. Loren Peceut officiating, of which she was a lifelong member. She worked as a Reading Teacher Aid and a Lunch Room Cashier within the Grade School District 6 and was a Nursing Service RN. She was also a member of the Zion Historical Society.

 Marian is survived by her beloved husband, Alfred; son, Thomas Edson (Sally) McElroy; grandchildren, Richard Thomas (Kari) McElroy, Scott Edson McElroy, Jason (Abril) Staton, Becky Staton, Leah (Eric) Miller; siblings, Clint (Martha) McElroy, Faye (William) McDowell; nephews, Mike (Donna) McDowell, Mark (Ruth) McDowell, Jack (Christy) Studebaker, Jeff (Joanne) Studebaker; nieces, Connie (Bob) Langlois, Suzi (Mark) Mehlig, Debby (Ivan) Witts, Chris (Debbie) Ruchti, Mike (Robin) Ruchti, and John (Renee) Ruchti.

 She is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Sara McDowell; son, Richard George McElroy, siblings, Martha (Clint) McElroy, Georgine (Keith) Price, Keith (Georgine) Price, William Oscar (Faye) McDowell.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 17, 10:00 a.m. until the time of Service at 11:00 a.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park in Zion. In lieu of flowers, donations made to either ZEMA or Grace Missionary Church.
