Obituary of Richard Leonowitz

Rick was born May 6, 1952 in Waukegan, IL. He enjoyed sailing on his boat, riding his motorcycle, and taking cruise vacations.  He was an avid Chicago Bears fan and treasured spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his love of 21 years, Leanne Thulin; children, Richard “Ricky” (Elizabeth) Leonowitz, and James “Jim” (Heather) Leonowitz; grandchildren, Madeleine Leonowitz, and Declan and Tegan Leonowitz; brother John (Judy) Leonowitz; nieces, nephews, and other beloved family.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Joseph and Idona Leonowitz; and a half-brother, Joe Leonowitz.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion.  A memorial service and time for sharing memories will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
