James Robert Farmer, 92, of Pleasant Prairie, WI, passed away on January 4, 2019.

James was born January 15, 1926 in Flag Pond, TN.  He married Vivian Kelley on June 18, 1949 in Waukegan, IL.  He retired from AMC/Chrysler.  James served in World War II with the United States Army.

Survivors include his children, Robert D. Farmer, Joel K. (Pamela) Farmer, Jamie (Robert) Toliver, and Charles Farmer; grandchildren, Robert K. Farmer, Erica Farmer, Charles Farmer, Nicole Farmer, Brian Farmer, Brittany Farmer, Matthew Toliver, John Toliver, and Sara Toliver; 12 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Velma Fender, Lilly Martin, and Sybil Shipley.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Farmer; brothers, Clinton Farmer, Kenneth Farmer; and a sister, Donnie Hawkins.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2018 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL.  A visitation will also be held on Thursday, January 10, 2019 from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  A funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Major Dalton, officiating.  Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park, Kenosha, WI.  Please visit the online guest book at www.congdonfuneralhome.com.
