Obituary of Garrett Ray Crowe

Garrett Ray Crowe, age 27, passed away unexpectedly Friday, March 8, 2019.  He was born in Waukegan, IL on August 19, 1991, son to Tera (Jeremy) Clark and Garry Crowe.
Garrett was an amazing artist and musician.  He was passionate about music, self-taught, he loved playing bass, guitar and writing lyrics.  He found joy in traveling, making friends, being silly and embraced new experiences.  Garrett was a member of the North Point Church, where he was baptized and accepted the Lord into his life.  He had an aura that drew people to him, no matter where he went.  His ability to listen and engage with people from every walk of life was inspiring.
Garrett had an incredible and unique style that was every bit his own.  He was a free spirit, expressing himself and his world through artistic avenues.  He loved his tattoos and music, letting them tell his story.  He never got caught up in any stereo type or conforming to any image, he just stayed true to being who he was.  It was that ability that allowed him to connect with so many, making others feel understood and him being a safe place for so many.
Garrett is survived by his parents, sister Katie (David) Sedall, step-sister Alexis Clark, grandparents Kathy Lindsey, Tom (Diane) Carver, LaVelle Crowe, aunt Lisa (James) Crowe Casey, uncle Tom “Bubby” (Gina) Carver, nephew’s Zachary and Lucas Sedall, first cousin’s, Tyler Carver, Maegan Carver, Aiden Casey, Grant Casey and many great aunt’s, great uncles and other relatives.
He is preceded in death by grandfather Grady Ray Crowe, great-grandparents Mollie Hampton, Zelma and George Crowe, Leona and Berlie Lindsey, Frank Smittherman, William Carver Sr., great-uncle David Lindsey, great-aunt LeEtta Workman.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 19th at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion IL 60099 from 4 – 7 PM.  On Wednesday, March 20th at North Point Church, 900 Lewis Ave. Winthrop Harbor, IL 60096 final visitation will begin at 10AM followed by funeral service at 11AM.
Garrett left this world far too soon.  His memory will forever remain engraved in our hearts.

“…at the end of the day, life is sic.  Family is sic.  Having friends is sic.  Just being alive is sic.  Find the most simple things in life and appreciate that.”   - Garrett Crowe, December 24, 2018
