Howard G. Butler, 69, of Winthrop Harbor, IL died on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan.
Howard was born August 17, 1942 in Bradford, TN and had lived in the Chicago area most of his life. He was a Veteran having served with the United States Navy. Howard had worked at Caterpillar in Peoria for many years and was employed at both Dynapar and Cherry Electric both in Waukegan, IL. More recently he was self employed as an over the road truck driver. Howard was a member of Peoria Masonic Lodge and Tebala Shrine. He was also an avid motorcycle rider.
Survivors include his wife, Carole; children Sharon (Raymond) Knoll of Racine, WI, Diana (Brian) Van Sickle of Crystal Lake, IL, Katrina (Terry) Foncannon of Las Vegas, NV, Eric (Felicia) Frye of Twin Lakes, WI, and Jeffrey Frye of West Berlin, WI; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and siblings, Bettie (Frank) Loebbaka of Round Lake Beach, David L. Butler of Woodstock, IL, and Brenda Sue (Timothy) Lawler of Curituck, NC.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Howard W. and Pauline Butler.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 4, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, with Rev. Robert Eby of Calvary Christian Center of Lake Villa officiatng. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to American Cancer Society have been suggested.
