Obituary of Dorothy Oglesby

Dorothy Ruth Oglesby, 89, of Waukegan, IL died on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 in Kenosha, WI. She was born December 1, 1923 in Chicago. Dorothy was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Waukegan were she taught Sunday School for many years. She retired from Abbott Laboratories and she was a volunteer at Victory Memorial Hospital (now Vista East Medical Center) for 30 plus years. Dorothy loved animals, children, doing things with family, holidays, but most of all she loved her children and grandchildren. Survivors include three sons Donald Oglesby, David (Janet) Oglesby, and Robert (Sophie) Oglesby; grandchildren Peggy, Pam, Diane, Scott, Heather, Shelly, Teresa, Billy, Kim, and Kaity; and great-grandchildren Sheldon, Cameron, Ashlyn, Kaitlyn, Shelly, Stacy, and Stephanie. She was preceded in death by her husband William Clifford Oglesby; sons Richard, John "Jack", and Thomas Oglesby; and parents Jacob and Emma Russell. Visitation will be Thursday, December 27, 2012, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 28th, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church 824 N. Lewis Avenue, Waukegan, with Pastor Caroline Satre officiating. Interment will follow at Pineview Cemetery, Beach Park, IL.
