Obituary of Virginia McCreary

On January 5, 2020, an angel stopped by to take Ms. Virginia home. Virginia Sutherland McCreary, 89, was born to Oscar Clarence and Lockie Isabelle Werner on May 4, 1930 in Golconda, IL. Virginia was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved God and served with the nursing home ministries. Virginia loved her family and enjoyed cooking them meals. She taught herself to play church hymns on the piano, her favorite songs being “Calvary,” “In the Garden,” and “Old Rugged Cross.” She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Virginia is survived by her daughter, LaDonna Jean Kraft, of Chino Valley, AZ; grandchildren, Shannon, Shane, Shaun Lancaster, Justin Sutherland, Lisa Kraft Thomsen, Laura Lugardo, Shena Bohner, Jennifer Sutherland; a host of great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, J.T. Sutherland; daughter, Sandra Lancaster; son, Garry W. Sutherland; and second husband, Allen McCreary. Services were private for the family.
