Obituary of Robert Patrick Arnoldt

Robert Patrick Arnoldt, Ph.D born October 16, 1944, passed away May 11, 2020 at the Captain James A. Lovell Federal Healthcare Center. He is survived by his wife Patricia, his five children, Robert (Emily), James (Blythe), Kathleen (Tim), Thomas (Rachel) and Brian, and his seven grandchildren, Sean, Eleanor, Caden, Cale, Margaret, Hannah and Lucy. He was an educator and mentor who touched countless lives through his affiliation with the Boy Scouts of America and years of teaching at Woodlands Academy, Columbia College, Barat College and many others. He was a man of immense integrity and loyalty who volunteered to serve his country in the Vietnam War and was awarded the Bronze Star during his second tour in 1967. He will be forever missed, but his legacy lives on through his children and grandchildren who love him dearly and have benefitted beyond measure from his wisdom, intelligence, love of nature and conservation as well as his unfaltering belief that “close only counts with horseshoes and hand grenades.”
