Seth Josiah Schultz

On Sunday, July 5, 2020, Seth was playing in the Dead River at Illinois Beach State Park with eight of his siblings. One moment he was there; the next he was gone. After his body was located, Seth was transported first to Vista Medical Center East, then to Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago, where he was confirmed dead on Wednesday, July 8, 2020. Seth is the second youngest of 14 siblings (Rachel, Rebekah, Ruth, Elizabeth, Kath, Judah, Johannah, Ezekiel, Jeremiah, Pela, Hosannah, Isaiah, and Joshua). He was born at home to Will and Karen Schultz on November 9, 2007, in Zion, Illinois. His name has significant meaning: Seth means "Appointed" and Josiah means "Fire of God."
