Stanley Walton Peterson Sr. passed away Saturday, July 22, 2006 at Midwestern Regional Medical Center in Zion.
Stanley was born March 6, 1913 in Comstock, Nebraska to Peter and Mary Peterson. He moved to Winthrop Harbor, IL at the age of 12 and graduated from Waukegan Highschool at 16. He was married to Ruth Warner, the mother of his sons, for thirteen years; and to Fleta Sallis for 58 years, both precede him in death. Stanley worked at Marshall Fields in Zion, Johnson Motors in Waukegan and retired from Anchor Hocking. He enjoyed bowling, baseball and wrestling.
He is survived by one sister Mary Pearl Whitman of Normal, IL and her son Jim Whitman also of Normal, IL; two sons Stanley W. (Nancy) Peterson, Garold R. (Judy) Peterson both of Kenosha, WI; eight grandchildren Gregory (Shelly) Peterson, Debra (Tim) Oatsvall, Mark (Kim) Haubrich, Pamela (Patrick) Kerry, David (Lesly) Peterson, Lori (Kevin) Harper, Dale (Jenny) Peterson, Daniel Peterson (US Army); fourteen great-grandchildren Jennifer, Kristen, Katie, Kerri, Jonathan, Chris, Jose, Jorie, Liz, Drake, Hollyn, Kailyn, Inez and Jessica.
An interment service will be held Thursday, July 27, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Northshore Garden of Memories, 1801 Greenbay Road, North Chicago, IL 60064.
