Jerome "Jerry" Berry Jerome "Jerry" Berry was the custodial maintenance/groundskeeper for The Point Church in Winthrop Harbor, IL. He died unexpectedly on August 24, 2020 at the age of 57. Jerome was born at home in Chicago on March 20, 1963 to Wilhelmina Bednorz (Howard) & Huewest Berry Sr who preceded him in death. Jerome is survived by his wife Donna, his children Jerome Jr., Jeremey, Jemille and Justin Berry. His siblings Elona Bednorz, Huewest Berry Jr., Yvonne Torres, and Veronica Howard. His many grandchildren, Jerome III, Jasmine, Jaysen, Jayden, Jordin, Jacoya, Jaylie, Saphira, Lesane, Judas, Blessing, and Elias Berry, Dustin, Alex & Hailey Legacy, Gregory, Aiden & Patric Brenner and In laws, Raymond & Bertha Vega; and cousins, Harry Woods, and Dorothy "Geetze" Becceril; along with a host of nieces and nephews and extended family & friends. Jerome was born at home in Chicago on March 20, 1963 to Wilhelmina (Howard) & Huewest Berry Sr who preceded him in death. Jerome "Jerry" Berry was a passionate poet & spoken word artist. His works all had a spiritual message that could reach others. His faith was unwavering. He was a loved man with a huge heart. His smile and laugh will be missed by all who knew him. From toddlers to adults. He was there for others and enjoyed life to the fullest. He LOVED his family. He liked fishing, restoring, cruising, and showing classic cars, music, dancing, singing & rapping. He loved his pets Gracie Marie, Tucker Presley & Buddy Ray like family members. He always had an adventurous story to tell. He will be missed by us all. A visitation will take place on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at The Point Church, 900 Lewis Avenue, Winthrop Harbor, IL. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. For those who cannot attend in person you may view the Live Stream of the service on this tribute page.
