Obituary of Thomas Caccamo

Thomas N. Caccamo, 67, of Beach Park, IL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at his home with his loved ones by his side. He was born October 22, 1952 in Waukegan, IL, the son of the late Joseph P. and Doloris A. (Kessner) Caccamo. Tom graduated from Waukegan High School in 1970. Throughout his 46 years of his professional career, Tom spent 30 years employed by Outboard Marine Corporation as a Production Control Coordinator and a Systems Analyst. Tom also spent time with Bombardier, Ken Cook Co., and Yaskawa where he held titles of Graphic Illustrator and Sr. Technical Writer before retiring in 2017. Above all, Tom put his family first and loved spending time with them. He spent his free time boating and fishing with his family on local lakes and took countless trips to the Wisconsin Dells with a boat in tow. He developed a penchant for drawing and painting at a very young age which carried on throughout his life. His artwork was often displayed at the “Art Wauk” of Waukegan, IL. Tom had a love for music, stemming from all genres, and it was always playing in the background during family gatherings, while cooking in the kitchen or grilling on the back patio. Whether the Chicago Bears were winning or losing, Tom never missed a game and often enjoyed viewing them on the back porch on crisp fall Sundays. Tom is survived by his loving wife, Carla (Roberts) Caccamo; daughters, Christina Caccamo and Laurel (Jake) Caccamo-Bailey; grandson, Jagger Bailey; brothers, James (Suzann) Caccamo, Jerry Caccamo and Dale (Arlene) Pumala; and several nieces, nephews and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved sisters-in-law, Barbara Caccamo and Deborah Pumala. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL 60099 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Please note that masks will be required for all attendees.
