Obituary of Ruth DeRohan

Ruth DeRohan, 91, of Zion, passed away on Friday, July 27, 2006. Ruth was born March 21, 1915 in Chicago, IL, and attended Grace Missionary Church in Zion. She was a past member of the Zion Women's Club and was an avid bridge player. Ruth is survived by a daughter, Joy (Howard) Bennett of Zion; four grandchildren, Craig (Karen) Bennett of Zion, Bill (Jodi) Bennett of Wentzville, MO, Rev. Lewis (Sherry) Bennett of Knox, PA, and Jill (Joel) Showalter of Bolingbrook, IL; twelve great grandchildren; brother, David (Darlene) Hammond of Beach Park, IL; sister, Mary Fredrickson of Zion; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill DeRohan in 1975; father and mother, John and Madeline Hammond; and brother, Bud Hammond. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2006, at 3:00 p.m., with Rev. Lewis Bennett officiating, at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Friends may greet the family on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
