Obituary of Teresa Bunsen

Teresa ‘Terri’ Bunsen, 61, of Winthrop Harbor, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2020 at JourneyCare in Glenview. Terri was born June 28, 1959 in Wellsville, NY to William and Betty (nee Keough) Burns. On October 15, 1983, she married the love of her life, Dennis Bunsen, and together they shared 37 years of marriage. Terri was a graduate of Warren Township High School, class of 1977. She attended college at Illinois State University where she earned a Bachelors Degree in Medical Records. She was employed with Northshore Health System for over 30 years; she held a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certification where she was able to manage patient health information and medical records, administer computer information systems, and collect and analyze patient data. She was a member of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) a professional association for health professionals involved in the health information management needed to deliver quality health care to the public. As a second career, she enjoyed selling scrapbooking supplies from Creative Memories. Terri was also a member of Gurnee Community Church. Terri leaves behind to cherish her memory, husband, Dennis; parents, William Burns and Betty Keough Burns; siblings, Roxie Vatter, Karen Burns, and Lynn Kattner; and nieces and nephews, Steve Peklay, Chris Peklay, Kaelen Kattner, Joshua Kattner, Emily Kattner, Erin Kattner, Jacob Vatter, Savannah Vatter and Derek Boulton. On Saturday, November 14, 2020 there will be a private (family only) service at Gurnee Community Church, Gurnee, IL.
