Raymond Joseph Rajuniec Jr., 29, died suddenly on November 13, 2020. Ray was born June 11, 1991 in Lake Forest, IL. Ray attended St. Patrick's for one year in Wadsworth where he played basketball and made communion in the 7th grade. He attended Winthrop Harbor Schools also. Ray played football for the Zion Scorpions and attended and played for Zion-Benton Township High School with the class of 2009. He also played basketball and baseball with the Winthrop Harbor teams. He worked at various places including IL Beach State Resort, Ludlow Manufacturing, and Gallagher Corporation, ultimately applying as an apprentice with the Local 150 Operating Engineers. Ray loved helping others, often doing side jobs with no pay out of the kindness of his heart just to spend time with others. Ray was an avid Vikings, LA Lakers, Cubs, White Sox and sports fan in general. He enjoyed the outdoors, ATVs, playing bags, fishing, boating, hunting and hanging out with friends. Ray loved spending time with his dog, De Niro. He was most happy when he was with his angels, Savanna and Viviana. Ray is survived by his father, Ray (Carol Lutz-Munda) Rajuniec Sr.; girlfriend, Casmir Hughes; and half-sister, Katie. He was preceded in death by his mother, Cynthia Bittner; grandparents, Edwin and Beatrice Rajuniec; and grandparents, Dick and Marilyn Bittner. There will be a memorial visitation on Saturday, November 21, 2020 from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL. A memorial service will follow at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
