Obituary of Albert D. Bunnell

Albert D. Bunnell, 89, of Waukegan, IL, passed away on December 4, 2020. Albert was born January 20, 1931 in Laurium, MI to Ezra and Helen (neé Trestrail) Bunnell, and raised in Lake Nebagamon, WI. He served in the US Army having been stationed in Germany. In June of 1952 Albert married the love of his life, Joyce Hietala and for the next 65 years remained by her side until her passing in 2018. He was a proud father to three sons and a dedicated family man. Albert was employed as a Millwright for 42 years with Johns Manville and retired in 1993. He was a Model A Ford enthusiast and was a member of the Chain O’ Lakes Model A Club. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers fan, and enjoyed camping, boating, and deer hunting with family and friends. Albert will be remembered for his ability to fix anything, he was a true handy-man. He is survived by three sons, Roger Bunnell, Dean (Barb) Bunnell, and Jim (Sherrie) Bunnell; 6 grandchildren, Kyle Snyder, Dustin Bunnell, Dena Luther, Marina Riedlinger, Kendall Bunnell, and Kalen Bunnell; 5 great grandchildren; brother, Frank Bunnell; sister, Dorothy (Bryan) Treible; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce; twin brother, Bill Bunnell; sister, Betty, and brothers, Fred and Ezra “Bob”. A graveside interment service with military honors will be held at a later date.
