Obituary of George Maksimovic

George Coop Maksimovic of Waukegan, IL passed away December 23, 2020 at Vista Medical Center East. George was born December 8, 1953 at Saint Therese Hospital in Waukegan, IL. George attended Waukegan East Campus High School. He was a member of Most Holy Mother of God, Serbian Monastery in Third Lake, IL. George work for Wheaton Van Lines for 15 years as warehouse supervisor. He was also a member of the Strawberry Fields softball team of Waukegan. He enjoyed playing softball, bowling and golfing. George had a love for classical music, animals, traveling, going to Great America and watching movies. He went by the nick names of Fly and Coop. George is survived by his brother Ratomir (Riley) Maksimovic of Apopka, Florida; cousin, Paya Maksimovic of Concord, California; 3 nephews, Michael and Joseph Maksimovic of Fox Lake, IL, Kevin Maksimovic of Fort Mill, South Carolina; niece, Krystle Maksimovic Steffen of Concord, North Carolina. He is preceded in death by his oldest brother Donald Maksimovic; his parents Martha (nee Velnar) and Alexander Nicholas Maksimovic. Services will be private for family.
