Obituary of Armand Sheffield

Armand (Shef) V. Sheffield of Beach Park, Illinois passed away February 18, 2021 at the Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Armand was born in Waukegan, Illinois September 21, 1938. He was a 1956 graduate of Zion-Benton Township high School. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Armand married Sylvia Flinchbaugh and later marrying Nina Pauley. He was a member of Waukegan First Church of the Nazarene in Waukegan, IL. He is retired from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union. As an IEBW Local 150 member Armand worked on many major electrical projects in the area including construction of the Zion Nuclear Plant and Gurnee Mills. Armand had many friends from his military service and electrical work. For years he had a camper and enjoyed traveling the country with his wife Nina to visit friends and family and annually participated in an encampment reunion sponsored by the IBEW. His family roots were in Kentucky and he loved reading and talking about his ancestors. Armand also loved sitting on his front porch during the summer months and talking for hours to friends and neighbors “solving all of the worlds problems!” Armand is survived by his daughter, Dawn Sheffield; former wife, Sylvia Flinchbaugh, step-children and there family, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his wife, Nina Pauley Sheffield; father, Charles C. Sheffield; mother, Elva Porter Sheffield; brothers, Vineard, Lester, Bernard and Doren; sisters, Vivian, Lillian and Carmen. A graveside service will take place Friday, February 26th at Pineview Memorial Park in Beach Park, Il at 10 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Waukegan First Church of the Nazarene, 3132 N McAree Rd, Waukegan, IL 60087 is suggested.
