Obituary of Brenda K Alexander

Brenda Kay Alexander, 62, of Zion, IL, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2021. Brenda was born January 18, 1959 in Princeton, IL to Douglas and Gayle Andersen. She lived in the Zion area most of her life having graduated from Zion-Benton Township High School with the class of 1977. After raising her two girls Brenda became “Mimi” to her three special granddaughters. She worked for Reed Group in benefits administration and had a hobby of couponing. Her passion and commitment to her granddaughters will be missed most of all. Brenda is survived by her daughters, Stacy (Joe Cosiano) Auger, and Elisha (Jeremy) Blank; granddaughters, Bailey, Mya and Riley; and her mother, Gayle Andersen. She was preceded in death by her father, Douglas; her fiance, Steven Kennedy; and by her grandparents. A visitation will take place on Saturday, April 24, 2021 from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Miguel Nieves, officiating. The service will also be live-streamed on her tribute page. Interment will be private for the family at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion.
