Cheryl L. Agnew, 63, of Zion, IL passed away on Saturday, April 17,2021 in Waukegan, IL. She was born on September 2, 1957 in Waukegan, IL the daughter of Walter and Rosalia Gibour. Cheryl attended Immaculate Conception elementary school then graduated from Waukegan West High School class of 1976. After High School she worked as a supervisor at NEX Video and as a NEX food service leader. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary of Mundelein, IL and Christ Community Church in Zion, IL. Cherly was known for her kindness and love. She loved to fish at Sand pond in Zion and Lake Michigan. It wasn't an uncommon site to see her sitting outside with a bag of peanuts and having squirrels all around her gently taking them out of her hand. Most importantly was her love for her family and friends. Almost always on the wrong side of the camera, Cheryl was taking pictures of all those who she held most dear in her heart. She liked to bring more beauty into the world by painting pine cones, shells with sparkly paint, and making earrings. She gifted these beautiful gifts to anyone who came to visit. Cheryl loved to spread love on Facebook and bring words of encouragement to those in need. Wife, mother, and grandmother Cheryl L. Agnew is loved and will be missed and remembered. Cheryl is survived by her husband John Agnew; children, Thomas King, Stephen Agnew; grandchildren, Noah King, Claire King; brother Wayne Gibour; sister Arlene Lolley; mother-in-law Mary Merson; many nieces and nephews; and dear friend Thomas D. King. She is preceded in death by her parents Walter and Rosalia Gibour; sister Betty Gibour; brother Melvin Gibour; father-in-law Franklin Agnew; brother-in-law Franklin (Margaret) Agnew; step-father-in-law Herbert Merson. A visitation will be held on Thursday April 22,2012 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 23, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Funeral Home located at 3012 Sheridan Rd Zion, IL 60099. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park in Zion, IL.
