Obituary of Roland Means

Roland Means, 92, of Waukegan, died on Monday, August 28, 2006, at Rolling Hills Manor in Zion. Roland was born on May 25, 1914 in Wausau, WI, and married Lois Miller in 1943 in Waukegan. He was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Waukegan. Roland was a United States Navy World War II veteran serving as a SeaBee in the Pacific Theater. He was a Past Governor of the Waukegan Moose Lodge where he had been a member since 1942. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara (Robert) Leach of Beach Park, IL and Carol (Brian) Friday of Winthrop Harbor, IL; six granddaughters; four great-granddaughters; son-in- law, Richard Howells of Wisconsin; and two sisters-in-law, Elaine Lauer and Beverly (Donald) Moitzfield, both of Fox Lake, IL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Means in 2004, and daughter, Joann Howells in 1995. Funeral Services are private for the family.
