Cecil Redstrom of Montello, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at the age of 83 on August 9, 2021 in Naples, Fl. Cecil was born June 1, 1938 in Escanaba, Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reynold and Margaret (Dolly) Redstrom.
He is survived by his loving soulmate, Joie Woodard; Cecil's three children; his son, Chris (Karen) Redstrom of Gurnee, IL, daughters, Cindy (Robert) Biaggi of Gurnee, IL and Connie Redstrom of Round Lake Park, IL; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sister, Jeanne Redstrom of Maryland, Joie's daughter Jennifer (Gregory) Sodermark and Joie's three grandchildren. Along with many other family and friends who dearly loved him.
In his childhood he was involved in many sports and developed his passion for hunting and fishing in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
He moved to Northern Illinois in 1958. He was a highly motivated, hardworking, self-taught man who started a successful masonry business in 1965; his son Chris still continues to run the business. He was also a well-known and respected builder. Building many homes, apartment buildings and developing subdivisions.
Cecil's passion for hunting continued throughout his life. He trophy hunted in many states and countries all over the world. He loved to tip a glass of Jack and Coke and share his many adventures with others.
In 2004 he built his dream home with Joie in the middle of his hunting property in Montello, WI calling it their "Little Bit of Heaven" in which many family outings have taken place.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. at the Congdon Funeral Home located at 3012 Sheridan Rd, Zion, II 60099. Please come and share a memory or two of Cecil's extraordinary life.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Wadsworth, IL. Burial will be in the family plot at St. Anne's Cemetery in Francis Creek, WI.
