Linda Best

Linda Opal Marie Best of Zion, IL passed away on August 16, 2021, at her home peacefully. She was born on March 27, 1964, in Waukegan, IL the daughter of William (Jeanette Stack) Cree. Linda grew up In Waukegan where she graduated high school in 1982. She then met Mark and they were married on November 12, 1988 and enjoyed 39 years of marriage and memories. She worked in banking for 12 years, than as a pharmacy tech, before transitioning to Cancer Treatment Center of America for 10 years. Linda was a very creative woman and had many talents, she was an avid figure skater growing up and loved music. She would sing and dance to any song playing. She loved the outdoors and camping in the U.P. with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, family member, friend and loved her grandchildren unconditionally. She is survived by her husband Mark Best; children Sarah Becker (Kyle), Matthew Best; grandchildren Emmett Best, Ava Becker; mother, Jeanette Cree; brothers William Cree (Valerie), sisters Lisa Cree and Sharon Cree (Hugh); mother-in-Law Delores Best; nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends Linda is preceded in death by her father William Cree; Grandfather and grandmother: Marty and Opal Stack. Visitation will be on Saturday, August 28, 2021, from 11:00 – 12:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home located at 3012 Sheridan Rd, Zion, Illinois 60099. Interment will be private.
