Obituary of Kerry Ivey

After a long illness Kerry, L Ivey 58, of Winthrop Harbor, IL passed away at home surrounded by his family on September 7, 2021. He was born on September 20, 1962 in Waukegan, IL the son of Paul (Ruta Rudzons) Ivey. Kerry was an accomplished and talented plaster repairman and painter. He worked for Dave Flesher in Zion, IL for many years. In his free time he enjoyed cooking with his home grown tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers with an array of hot spices and seasoning so much so that no one else could eat his concoctions! His favorite sports to watch in his free time were the Chicago Cubs baseball team and NASCAR. Kerry had a gift for training dogs and spoiling them rotten! Especially his beloved dogs Capone, Jade, Izzy and Eva the Diva. He is survived by his son Andrew P. Ivey; mother Ruta Ivey; sister Paulette (Dru) Davidson, Jeri (Paul) Ahlemeyer; step-son Nick Ladewig; along with many cousins. Kerry is preceded in death by an infant daughter Ashley Ladewig; significant other Shirley Ladewig; father Paul Ivey; maternal grandmother Milija Vecitis; paternal grandparents Vernon & Odell Ivey. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Rev. Richard A. Grudt of Trinity United Lutheran Church. At Congdon Funeral Home located at 3012 Sheridan Rd, Zion,IL 60099. Interment will follow at North Shore Garden of Memories in North Chicago, IL.
