Obituary of J. David Trimmer

Jay David Trimmer, 62, of Pleasant Prairie, WI, passed away October 13, 2021. Dave was born March 8, 1959, in Peoria, IL. He moved to LaSalle, IL, then settled in Pleasant Prairie where he lived for 30 years. He married Carrie Neurohr on June 6, 1987 in Ottawa, IL. Dave graduated from Peoria High School and went on to ISU and Illinois Valley Community College. He obtained multiple degrees including an Associate in Applied Sciences in Mechanical Technology Production, an Associate in Applied Sciences in Robotics Application, a Certificate in Manufacturing Processes, an Associate in Liberal Studies, and a Certificate in Manufacturing Mechanical Technology Production. Dave retired from American National Can Company in Waukegan, IL. He was a service technician that traveled all over the country to a variety of plants to fix machines. Also, while employed for the company he designed the ends of a can which have been in use since the 90's. Dave was a member of the United Methodist Church in Ottawa, IL. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, and was also active in the Union. Dave enjoyed running and excelled at cross country in high school. His other interests were golfing and traveling. As an avid woodworker he enjoyed spending time in his workshop creating, repairing and fixing a variety of items. He was a Chicago Bears and Fighting Illini fan. Dave enjoyed spending time listening to his albums on his record player. Such as : Cosby, Stills &Nash, Grateful Dead, Rush, John Denver, Supertramp, Alan Parsons Project, The Police, Steely Dan and many more. Dave was a true family man who was always willing to help his loved ones, friends and neighbors. Dave is survived by his wife of 34 years, Carrie J. Trimmer; children, Kathrenia J. Trimmer and Jay M. Trimmer; sister, Janet Koch; brothers-in-law, Guy (Patty) Neurohr, and Neal (Roxey) Neurohr; nephews, Andy (Amanda) DeGraeve, Patrick (Holly) DeGraeve, Matthew (Jen Groll) DeGraeve, and Henry (Dee) Sayles; and a niece, Keyantee (Anthony) Davis. He was preceded in death by his mother, Eva Look Trimmer; father, Jay Trimmer; sisters, Jayne Trimmer Sayles, and Jenny Trimmer; and a brother-in-law, Ray Koch. A Celebration of Life visitation will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021 from 3:00 until 4:30 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL. A memorial service will follow at 4:30 p.m.
