Obituary of Donald L. Zumalt

Donald L. Zumalt, 68, of Kenosha, Wisconsin, passed away on October 16, 2021. Don was born July 22, 1953 in Waukegan, IL to Carlene and Edgar Zumalt. He married Susan Martin on April 27, 1991 in Waukegan. Don was a graduate of the Zion-Benton Township High School class of 1972, he went on to CLC and IL State for firefighter and paramedic training. Don retired from the Zion Fire Department in 2002 after 24 years. He was a member of the Patriots MC IL Chapter 1 and the Zion Benton Moose. Don enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was an avid NASCAR and Chicago Bears fan. Don enjoyed socializing and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Sue; children, Christopher (Shantrice) Zumalt, Benjamin Martin, Amy (Justin) Stolfus, Timothy (Lauren) Martin, and Melissa (Christopher) Richardt; grandchildren, Christopher Jr., Journey, Charles, Ella, Hunter, Breckin, Aiden, Connor, Tyler, Cecelia, Allison, and Kaylin; sister, Donna Foxvoug; brother, Lester (Erica) Zumalt; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Joshua Martin; and siblings, Patricia, Vicki, and Sheila. A memorial visitation will take place on Friday, November 5, 2021 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private for the family.
