Obituary of MaryAnn R. Phistry

MaryAnn R. Phistry, 87, of Zion, IL passed away on December 8, 2021. MaryAnn was born on November 5, 1934 in Chicago, IL to the late Louis and May (Ohrabka) Phistry. She was a devoted Catholic and was very faithful to her church where she worshipped for many years. Over the years, she accumulated a vast collection of religious artifacts which she displayed proudly throughout her home. She worked for many years at Ryerson Steel in the Payroll Department. After retiring from Ryerson, she went on to work for the Cook County T.B. Clinic. MaryAnn loved her family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them. She also had many pets over the years and loved and cherished each and every one of them. MaryAnn is survived by her beloved brother, Anthony; sister-in-law, Dorothy Phistry; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Rosalie (Sam) Scifo and Clara (Gerald) Miller; brothers, Phillip and Louis Phistry; and nephew, Phillip Miller. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL 60099 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W. Wadsworth Rd., Beach Park, IL 60099 on Monday, December 20, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1400 S. Wolf Rd., Hillside, IL 60162 at 1:00 p.m.
